Monika, Baltic Council’s experienced International Education Manager, will guide you through the key information about the European higher education market. You will learn about the availability of English-taught degree programmes in specific countries, tuition fees, and where you can find student accommodation and funding opportunities. Monika will also discuss university application systems in the most popular European study destinations. This is the perfect starting point for your search for the university that best suits you.
Study in the Netherlands
The Netherlands has been one of the most popular study destinations among students from Poland for many years. And there are good reasons for that! Baltic Council’s International Education Manager, Katarzyna, will tell you all about it. Having completed her own studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands, she will share her first-hand experience of what attracts students from all over the world to the country and whether it could be the right destination for you. Kasia will talk about what studying in the Netherlands is really like and what to consider when choosing a university there. She will also cover tuition fees, accommodation and everyday living costs, the application system and deadlines, as well as share practical tips on preparing your application documents.
International Business Studies
Business studies are a broad field that deserves some extra consideration. It is also a discipline that is particularly worth studying in an international environment and in English. There is currently a huge range of options available, which can make it easy to feel overwhelmed. Before making a decision, it is therefore worth taking a step back and considering some key questions: Why study business abroad? What are the different business-related degree programmes and specialisations like? What is important beyond
academics when studying business? And what should you consider when choosing a university? The co-presenter will be David, a representative of the prestigious French institution ESSCA School of Management, which has campuses in five countries across Europe and Asia. ESSCA is among the 1% of business schools worldwide to hold the so-called Triple Crown — the three major international business school accreditations: EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA.
How to Choose Your Degree and Not Go Crazy
“Where are you going to study?” “What do you want to do after school?” — if these questions are keeping you up at night, this presentation is a must-attend. The session will be led by Joanna, a psychologist and career counsellor specialising in working with young people, with additional expertise in the higher education sector. Throughout her career spanning more than a decade, she has conducted thousands of consultations, workshops and meetings with young people facing exactly the same questions as you. During her seminar, Joanna will explore the following questions: How do you choose a degree without going crazy? How do you choose a university that best meets your needs without relying solely on rankings? What questions should you ask yourself before starting the university selection process? Is a degree programme the same kind of product as a pair of shoes, a laptop or a car? If you need support in making a decision that is truly your own, we warmly invite you to join us! Parents, guardians and educators will also have an opportunity to better understand the choices young people are facing today and learn how to support them through these challenging decisions.
IELTS Language Certificate
Are you studying under the Polish Matura system? If you want to apply to English-taught degree programmes abroad, you will need a certificate confirming your English language proficiency. IELTS is currently the most popular language certificate among students. As many as 4 million people worldwide take the exam each year! Most importantly, IELTS is accepted by almost all universities abroad, including institutions outside Europe. The British Council is one of the organisations involved in delivering the IELTS examination, and its representative will introduce you to the process of obtaining the certificate. You will learn about the exam format, the different components it consists of, where and when you can take the test, and how to prepare for it effectively.
